President Aquino, Mayor Lim lead Miranda rally
MANILA Mayor Alfredo Lim will join today President Benigno Aquino III to lead the kickoff rally for the 12 senatorial bets of the Liberal Party in Plaza Miranda, Quiapo.
According to Ric de Guzman, Lim’s chief of staff and media bureau director, Chief Supt. Alex Gutierrez, Manila Police chief, has been tasked to oversee security.
To ensure the smooth flow of traffic, the MPD’s traffic district enforcement unit under Col. Reynaldo Nava and the city government’s Manila Traffic and Parking bureau under Nancy Villanueva will take charge of rerouting.
Also expected at the rally are Lim’s vice mayoral candidate Lou Veloso who is sixth district Councilor, LP’s candidates for the six congressional districts of Manila and the candidates for councilor under the Lim-Veloso ticket together with government officials and other LP stalwarts.
De Guzman said Lim will deliver the welcome remarks and introduce Mr. Aquino and the Manila’s congressional candidates.
Nava said no streets will be closed but vehicles coming from Espana will be directed to Morayta and then Recto, to destination.
