Marawi cops recover own guns they buried during siege

Some members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) have expressed delight over the recovery of their own service firearms that they themselves buried beneath the ground of their police precinct.

A local report says, as Maute terrorists were invading the city, the police in Barangay Moncado Kadingilan were supposedly cornered.

As a final move before leaving their posts, the cops dug holes and hid their twenty two (22) guns.

Then, they supposedly wore civilian clothes and joined the line of residents that were fleeing from the city.

At that time, Marawi was already being overrun by the Maute group.

Today, the cops are able to return to their base and were happily surprised to find that their firearms are still functioning properly.

The men in uniform say, if they had not kept their guns out of sight, these weapons could have been used by the Maute terrorists in fighting government forces.
