THE close to 2,000-strong hospital members of the Philippine Hospital Association elected their new board of directors last November 17 during their 67th Annual National Convention at The Manila Hotel.
The PHA, composed of hospitals from both the government and private sectors, affirms a formidable and unified front towards accessible, safe, quality and patient-friendly health care for all, it said in a press statement.
The 2017 Board of Directors and Officers are Jesus M. Jardin, Capitol University Medical Center/President; Jaime A. Almora, Almora General Hospital/VP for Luzon; Leo O. Olarte, Adventist Hospital-Calbayog Inc./VP for Visayas; Conrado M. Braña Jr., South Cotabato Provincial Hospital/VP for Mindanao; Ma. Lourdes K. Otayza, Mariano Marcos Memorial Medical Center/Secretary; Huberto F. Lapuz, Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research & Medical Center/Treasurer; Edmundo B. Lopez, Las Piñas General Hospital & Satellite Trauma Center/PRO; Bu. C. Castro, Bernardino General Hospital II/Director; Rustico A. Jimenez, Medical Center Parañaque, Inc./Director; Mutya Kismet T. Macuno, Don Emilio del Valle Memorial Hospital/Director; Edgardo V. Salud, Acebedo General Hospital/Director.
Jardin reiterated his platform of governance in his acceptance speech which hinges on L.E.A.D., the acronym for Legislative agenda, Engage with regulators, Advocate for PHA, and Develop PHA.
He also vowed to provide the leadership that shall enable PHA to continue as a catalyst of positive change in health care through an engaged and empowered membership.
The PHA draws its strength from the support of its 15 Councils and 81 Chapters nationwide, the organization’s backbone.
PHA president emeritus Ruben C. Flores and Jardin jointly inducted the officers of various Councils and Chapters during the three-day event.
In closing, Dr. Huberto Lapuz, the 2017 convention chairman, thanked everyone for the support extended.
