A court has ordered the arrest of a consultant of the National Democratic Front (NDF), following government's manifestation to remove bail bonds of consultants involved in the peace process, their legal counsels said Wednesday.

In a press briefing on Wednesday, NDF Legal Counsel Rachel Pastores said, Iloilo Regional Trial Court (RTC) had ordered the arrest of Maria Concepcion Araneta-Bocala, a consultant of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) after she failed to show up in a bail hearing.

Bocala was released on bail in August last year to enable her to participate in the peace talks.

More popularly known as Concha Araneta, Bocala is facing  charges of rebellion and murder before three local courts in Aklan, Iloilo and Antique.

The order comes, after the Office of the Solicitor-General (OSG) made a manifestation to lower courts handling cases of NDF consultants to remove their bail bonds.

The manifestation is in line with President Rodrigo Duterte's order terminating the peace talks with the communists.

Also included in the OSG's  manifestation for cancellation of bail bonds were Benito and Wilma Tiamzon, chairman and secretary general of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army (CPP-NPA), and 19 other NDF consultants.
