Aquino cited command responsibility as reason for the move against the Angeles police chief.

Seven police officers were earlier sacked in connection with their alleged extortion, abduction and mauling of three South Koreans who were brought to a police station from their homes in Apo Street, Friendship Plaza on December 30, 2016.

Jee was kidnapped on October 18, 2016 and was reportedly strangled to death in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
