The Department of Foreign Affairs is in the process of confirming whether or not the execution of Jakatia Pawa took place today.
Reports have it that there was an execution on Wednesday in Kuwait.
It took place at 12:30 noon Wednesday Philippine time.
Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait Rene Villa is going to the site to get a verified information.
Philippine Air Force Lt. Col. Gary Pawa's initial information was that the execution would take place on Thursday.
He was quoting his sister herself, who was allowed to call him on the telephone at dawn of Wednesday morning.
But his latest information is that the execution will take place at 2 pm on Wednesday.
Death by hanging is the penalty in Jakatia's case.
If it will push through (or if it had taken place), this is the first time a Filipino will be executed in Kuwait.
Other Filipino prisoners on death row were previously granted clemency by the Emir of Kuwait.
