“Nina” weakens after making landfall in Batangas

As of 11 am on Monday, typhoon “Nina” has slightly weakened after making landfall over Tingloy, Batangas.

It has maximum sustained winds of up to 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 215 kph.

It is forecast to move west at 20 kph.

PAGASA expects “Nina” to leave the mainland and head to Iba, Zambales by Tuesday.

The typhoon is predicted to be out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Wednesday.

Signal number 3 is up over Batangas and the northern portions of Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, including Lubang islands.

Signal number 2 is up over Metro Manila, Rizal, Southern Quezon, Marinduque, Cavite, Laguna and the rest of Mindoro provinces.

Signal number 1 is up over the rest of Quezon including Polillo Islands, Bulacan, Pampanga, Southern Zambales, Romblon, Camarines Norte, Bataan and Calamian Group of Islands.
