New Bilibid Prison (NBP) convict and former policeman Engelberto Durano testified on the alleged existence of drug transactions between Senator Leila De Lima’s former bodyguard and driver Ronnie Dayan and alleged Cebu drug lord Jeffrey Diaz alias ‘Jaguar.’
Durano made the testimony at the House Committee on Justice hearing on the reported proliferation of illegal drugs inside New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
Durano claimed, among the activities between Dayan and Jaguar was a drug deal that reached P 27.3 million.
The money for this transaction was allegedly transferred through 3 Banco de Oro (BDO) bank accounts.
Durano supplied the account numbers.
He also claimed he was the one who introduced Dayan to Jaguar.
The convict said, he became associated with Dayan during then Justice Secretary De Lima’s frequent visits to NBP.
