GPH-MILF peace talks begin in Kuala Lumpur

The preliminary peace negotiations between President Rodrigo Duterte’s peace panel and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) have started in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Government panel is represented by Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Jesus Dureza, Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay, House Speaker Panteleon Alvarez, National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon and House Majority Leader Rodolfo Fariñas.

Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia Eduardo Malaya is also on hand.

The MILF panel is headed by MILF Chairman Al Haj Murad and MILF chief negotiator Mohagher Igbal.  

Murad says, the implementation phase of the peace talks will entail the drafting of the road map for the peace process in Mindanao.
