Olympic silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz arriving at NAIA

Filipina Olympian Hidilyn Diaz is arriving late Thursday afternoon at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

This comes after the weightlifter from Zamboanga City won a silver medal at the Rio Olympics.

The parents of Diaz are at the airport waiting for her, along with local officials of Zamboanga City.

On Friday afternoon, Diaz will have an audience with President Rodrigo Duterte in Davao City.

This is the third time Diaz joined the Olympics.

Her victory is the first for a Filipino female athlete.

Her medal is the Philippines’ third silver medal in the Olympics.

Diaz will receive a P 5-million prize from the Philippine government.
