SC junks plunder case vs. Arroyo in connection with PCSO funds

The Supreme Court has junked the plunder case against Former President Gloria Arroyo in connection with the alleged anomalous use of the funds of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

This is based on the information received by her lawyer, Attorney Raul Lambino.

The ruling comes after Arroyo filed a demurrer to evidence at the high tribunal.

Lambino says the Supreme Court justices voted 11-4 in favor of her client.

Arroyo’s counsel says once the resolution is promulgated, the former president may already be released from hospital detention.

She has been detained for more than 5 years at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC).

Lambino says he is currently at the VMMC.

He says Arroyo and her family members are very happy to receive the news from the Supreme Court.
