Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya”•Officials of the Department of Social Welfare and Development here said they have already paid the social pensions of poor elderlies in the province for the first semester this year.

Mary Grace Pascua, Social Welfare and Development team leader, said 25,043 elderlies who are 60 years and older were given P500 monthly stipend to augment their daily subsistence and other medical needs.

“The recipients were elderlies not receiving any pension from GSIS, SSS or AFPMBAI and other insurance company, and without permanent source of income or regular support from their relatives to meet their basic needs,” she said.

Pascua said they already paid the recipients in the 15 municipalities in Nueva Vizcaya amounting to over P750,000 from the social pension fund for the province this year.

“The preparation of summary payments are ongoing and we have already paid their social pensions for the months of July and August 2019,” she added.

She said 22,224 of the 25,112 total clients in the province for 2018 were already paid more than P53 million of the P60-million fund allotted.

Pascua said 2,888 clients covering over P8 million were still unpaid at present.

The UCT was required with the enactment of Republic Act 10963 or the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law, which provided additional P200 a month for the poor elderly.

For 2018 the UCT is P200 per month or P2,400 yearly, and by 2019 and 2020, this will be increased to P300 per month or a total of P3,600 a year.

The payout is held in coordination with the Land Bank of the Philippines.
