Las Piñas lauds lass who wins Magnetico tilt

The Las Piñas City government led by Mayor Imelda Aguilar has paid tribute to Ms. Niña Ruth Vega, who was recently crowned as Miss Magnetico Philippines World 2019.

During the regular flag-raising ceremony at Las Piñas City Hall on Monday, Mayor Aguilar personally awarded Vega with a Certificate of Recognition and P50,000 cash for winning the prestigious pageant.

Vega, a Grade 10 student of University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Las Piñas Campus, is the daughter of former Manila Police District beat reporter Vic Vega of Manila Bulletin and sportswriter Virgie Rodriguez Vega.

The 16-year-old beauty queen was crowned as the first-ever Miss Magnetico Philippines World 2019 after she stood out among 50 candidates who joined the pageant held at the Tanghalang Pasigueño Theater in Pasig City on July 6.

Vega also bagged 12 other special awards during the pageant—Best in Ramp, Role Model of the Year, Designers Choice Award, Miss Congeniality, Darling of the Crowd, Best in Long Gown, Best in Production Number, Most Creative Wear, People’s Choice Award, Magnetico Jeans Ambassadress, Magnetico Ambassadress, Coach B Ph Ambassadress, and Face of Magnetico.

In a message, Aguilar thanked Vega for being a good example to the youth and for bringing honor to Las Piñas. 

Vice Mayor April Aguilar, Senator Cynthia Villar, Rep. Camile Villar, and city councilors also congratulated and praised Vega.

For her part, the beauty queen expressed her gratitude to her family, friends, and all the people who helped in her journey, especially Frontrow International, Coach B, and Magnetico Fragrance, who all inspired her to do her best and win in the pageant.
