Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista on Tuesday inaugurated the 100-bed Rosario Maclang General Hospital to service mostly indigent patients.

It is the third hospital owned and operated by the city government. The three-floor medical center is a Level 2 accredited hospital by the Department of Health.

According to Bautista, the hospital was named in honor of his mother, who had passed away in 2008.

In an interview, Dr. Richard Joseph Maclang, hospital director, said the three-story medical center located in Barangay Batasan Hills could provide immediate healthcare for injured persons.

“We will be fully operational once we get our permit to operate from the Department of Health in a month’s time,” Maclang told reporters.

“We have an emergency medicine (center), radiology, critical care, and surgery,” the director said.

“The out-patient department went through a test run and soft opening on March 25. We have free consultations, X-ray, ultrasound, and dental and laboratory services,” he added.

Bautista said they support the anti-depository law.
