Celebrity chef Hong Seok-Cheon’s signature Korean Sweet and Spicy Chicken dish can be enjoyed up in air as it joins AirAsia’s Santan inflight menu.

AirAsia serves Korean Sweet and Spicy Chicken made of chicken bites glazed in sticky, sweet and spicy Korean sauce topped with crispy fritters. 

The new Korean Sweet and Spicy Chicken (Dakgangjeong), served with fluffy jasmine rice and vegetables, is part of the Celebrity Chef Series. 

Its key features include juicy chicken bites glazed in sticky, sweet and spicy Korean sauce, topped with crispy fritters. Chef Hong reinterprets the dish, which he said was his childhood comfort food, turning it into a delectable inflight meal.

“I enjoyed this dish growing up and even throughout all my TV shoots. I’m thrilled to be collaborating with AirAsia on this exciting project to bring Korean cuisine to more people,” said Chef Hong.

According to Karlo Sanchez, AirAsia Philippines head of ancillary, the airline’s guests have long been requesting for Korean dishes, “which is why we’re pleased to bring Chef Hong Seok-Cheon’s talent and the best of Korean food to the skies.”

Chef Hong’s Korean Sweet and Spicy Chicken value meal with complimentary drink is priced P140 for AirAsia Philippines flights (carrier code Z2) across all AirAsia destinations (except India and Japan flights). Santan meals are available for pre-booking via My Bookings on airasia.com.
