Poke bowls and oatsilogsFor the foodie who practices abstinence during Lent but still wishes to eat well and eat healthily, Flavors Restaurant of Holiday Inn & Suites Makati has brought back its popular Poke bowls.

The all-out-craze for Poke, a beloved Hawaiian staple traditionally made with diced raw fish and toppings such as seaweeds and nuts, began about four years ago with restaurants and pop-up stores all offering the delicious, healthy dish.

Poke has definitely gone mainstream, and at Flavors, guests are spoiled for choice with the freshest salmon and tuna slices as well as summer vegetables and even mangoes for a sweet surprise. You can also choose between white or brown rice.

Flavors Restaurant offers the Poke Bowl buffet until April 21.

For sauces, the spicy Korean and Ponzu work best for me. The Sriracha mayo also goes well with salmon.

The Poke Bowl buffet is offered on weekends until April 21 for just P800 nett, with an option to enjoy the full lunch or dinner buffet for P1,825 nett.

But with wellness as the new buzzword, there’s always a need to look for healthy yet quick alternative to the staple meal to kickstart your day.

And whether you choose to prepare Quaker Oats in a pan or to microwave these in a mug, you’re sure to get your meal in just a few minutes.
