Prosecutors of the Office of the Ombudsman on Friday advised former Senator Jinggoy Estrada to enjoy the Christmas holidays in the Philippines, instead of in Hong Kong.
The prosecutors offered the advice as they opposed Estrada’s petition to the Sandiganbayan’s Fifth Division to travel Hong Kong from Dec. 26 to 31.
“He can better spend and enjoy the holidays here. Indeed, celebrating the holidays in the Philippines is more fun than anywhere else considering the lovely colorful practices handed down through generations that are alive and well in this wonderful country,” the prosecution led by Deputy Special Prosecutor Cornelio Somido said in the opposition.
The prosecution opposed Estrada’s motion as his camp failed to provide a complete itinerary of his Hong Kong trip.
