Cignal is set to ride on the momentum and post its second straight conquest when it faces struggling Sta. Lucia in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference today at the FilOil Flying V Center.

Game time is at 7:00 p.m. with the HD Spikers marching with high morale following a thrilling five-set victory over Generika-Ayala over the weekend.

Meanwhile, F2 Logistics will hunt a fitting bounce-back victory when it clashes with the Lifesavers at 1:30 p.m. while Foton seeks to join Petron on top when it tackles Smart in the 4:15 p.m. second game of this prestigious club tourney bankrolled by Isuzu, Sogo, Asics, Mikasa, Mueller, UCPB Gen and Bizooku with Genius Sports as technical provider.

Against the Lifesavers, the HD Spikers simply refused to give up.

Seasoned spiker Rachel Anne Daquis displayed a vintage performance as she delivered 20 points, 17 digs and 13 excellent receptions while holding the fort for teammates in the crucial stretch of the fifth.

National team member Mylene Paat also made her presence felt with 26 points, much to the delight of head coach Edgar Barroga who said that the rest of the team must also step up.

“We’re happy that Mylene and Rachel are doing everything they can for the team but we also have to remember that everybody should do their part for us to win,” said Barroga, who was the team manager when the HD Spikers won their first title in the Invitational Conference last year.

“I always tell them that volleyball is a team sport, we can’t always rely on two players.”

Sta. Lucia, on the other hand, will try to get that elusive win and snap a three-game losing skid in this battle that also has ESPN5, Aksyon TV and Hyper HD as broadcast partners.

The Lady Realtors have yet to tally a victory as top gunner MJ Philips and Chin Basas remain sideline with injuries, leaving former Ateneo de Manila star Jhoanna Maraguinot, Souzan Raslan and Pamela Lastimosa carrying the fight offensively.
