Just like everyone else, Papa Jepoy, Mama Belle, Papa Bol, and Lady Gracia also take time to pause and relax when the workday is done.
Aptly dubbed as ‘The MVP’, Papa Jepoy loves to play basketball during his free time and shared that it is also his way of bonding with his sons.
“Playing basketball helps me focus and it helps me think clearly. Healthy lifestyle na rin for the body and mind.”
Mama Belle is the Barangay’s ‘Squad Leader’ who looks after her fellow DJs as a reliable friend during challenging times. Whenever she feels stressed, she makes sure that she is surrounded by supportive friends. Having a pet dog named Bong Soon also keeps her company and cheers her up during bad days.
“She is my stress reliever whenever she plays games with me. Ako kasi, kapag alam kong may masaya dahil sa akin or sa ginawa ko, nakakapagpasaya na rin ‘yun sa akin.”
On the other hand, listeners got even more kilig to know that Papa Bol’s current hobby is archery as ‘Mr. Dreamboy’ is slowly becoming a real-life cupid just like what he does in his on-air dating program Wanted Sweetheart.
“I really fell in love with archery. Lalo na when you fix your gaze on the target, it’s like setting your goals and hitting the mark. It helps me focus so I can achieve my goals and helps me fight stress.”
Lady Gracia, the latest addition to the Barangay, shared that solo travelling is her way of spending ‘me’ time. She also says that going to the beach helps ‘Ms. Trendy’ maintain a balanced outlook in life.
“Kapag beach ang pinupuntahan ko, sinisigurado kong naaabutan ko talaga yung sunset kasi ang sarap lang umupo sa sand habang nakatingin ka sa papalubog na araw.”
For them, such activities help them have a more positive attitude in their daily lives. They also encourage their listeners to learn something new and do something they really enjoy in order to keep the negativity at bay.
“When you play basketball, you can develop your confidence and self-esteem. Mage-enjoy ka na, nakakapayat pa,” said Papa Jepoy.
“We should look at things in a positive way. Kasi kung wala kang outlet or support group, mahihirapan ka talaga. Kaya nga we have friends, pets, sports, etc.,” Mama Belle added.
“Don’t be afraid to venture in life because it has a lot of exciting things to offer,” Papa Bol assured.
