Tropical Storm “Inday” intensified slightly while moving east-northeast over the Philippine Sea, the weather bureau said Thursday.

The storm had maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kilometers per hour.

Its center was 1,025 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes, as of 4 pm, and it was moving northeast at 25 kilometers per hour.

Weather forecaster Samuel Duran said Inday will not make landfall, but it will enhance the southwest monsoon to affect Luzon including Metro Manila.

The storm is forecast to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday morning.
