Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya—The Philippine National Police office here has sponsored a three-day Shootfest for policemen and civilians gun owners and enthusiasts.
Police Senior Supt. Jeremias Aglugub, provincial director, said the Shootfest intends to train policemen and civilians on proper gun handling and shooting.
To be held at the Batara Firing Range in barangay Masoc in this town, the Shootfest was sanctioned as a Level 2 event by the Philippine Practical Shooting Association.
“While this will serve as a venue to hone the shooting and gun handling skills of our policemen, it is also open for civilian gun owners and enthusiasts within and outside the province,” Aglugub said.
He said the activity is also expected to foster camaraderie and brotherhood among police officers and civilians as responsible gun owners.
Aglugub said shootfests are being done by the PNP nationwide to promote responsible gun ownership and train policemen on gun safety, handling and shooting proficiency.
He said the Shootfest is expected to draw civilian, police, and military shooters from Cagayan Valley and other regions.
