Model and professional nurse Clint Karkliñs Peralta is representing the Philippines in this year's Man of the World pageant

Clint Karkliñs Peralta, a 26-year-old, 6-foot-1 model from Naga City was one of the 30 official candidates from all over the world introduced to the media last week in an event held at Resorts World Manila.

Born to a Filipino ship captain father and a Polish-Latvian veterinarian mother, Peralta is a former flight attendant, and is presently a practicing nurse in Naga.

In 2014, Peralta competed in Body Shots Philippines Model Search, and was one of the models featured in Cosmo Batch 69 magazine edition and Bench’s “Under the Stars” 30th Anniversary Show.

The dashing heartthrob confessed to have a big crush on fellow Bicolano and reigning Miss Philippines-Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.  But he’s quick to admit that his father is his real inspiration and role model.

For the pre-pageant events, Peralta joined the other candidates when they were featured in an all-Filipino-creation fashion show showcasing the designs of Lemuel Rosos and Edgar Jaranilla (swimwear), Mark dela Pena, Jhay Layson, Adam Balasa, DC Castro, Rafael Gonzales, Jhong Yabo (fashion show designer), Olan Roque, Danna Santiago, Analiza Felix, and Noel Inez (shorts designer).

Voted by the press for Media’s Choice Award were Peru’s Juan Carlos Cabrera Torres (1st place), Nigeria’s Emmanuel Luiz (2nd), the Philippines’ Clint Karkliñs Peralta (3rd), Vietnam’s Cao Xuan Tai (4th) and Myanmar’s Kaung Htet Wai (5th).

“We are very proud of this year’s diverse and highly competitive batch of candidates,” said Aski Pascual, co-project director of Man of the World pageant.

“This year, we want them to experience the best the Philippines has to offer, the smiles, beauty and hospitality of the country,” promised Carlo Morris Galang, president of Prime Event Productions Philippines Foundation, Inc. (PEPPS), founder of Man of the World pageant.

Galang further said that the Manila-based Man of the World pageant promotes the theme “Masculinity with Responsibility.”

The finals night of Man of the World 2018 is on July 14, 7:00 p.m., at the FilOil Flying V Centre, in San Juan City where last year’s winner Mostafa Elizali of Egypt will relinquish his crown.
