Dennis Trillo expresses his excitement over his new film titled On the Job 2, which is under the helm of critically-acclaimed director Erik Matti. The Kapuso actor will go on shooting full-blast after he wraps up work for his currently airing soap opera The One That Got Away (TOTGA).

“It’s a very meaty project—very challenging. It’s simply an honor to work with Direk Erik who is so meticulous in staging scenes. It’s like you’re doing a commercial where everything must be exact. The movement of the car, the rain effects, wow! Every scene, every frame, he sees to it that it comes out perfect.”

Apart from Erik, Dennis feels privileged to share the frame with acting stalwart Christopher de Leon in the movie. This early, many expect that sparks would fly once they’re together in a scene considering their stature as award-winning thespians.

“Honestly, I don’t see it as an acting competition between the two of us. I have high respect for him. As we all know, he is local cinema’s, Drama King. For sure, I will pick up lots of valuable insights and examples from him. Clearly, I consider this as an essential learning experience to further hone my craft.”

According to Dennis, the film is supported by a bunch of talented actors. Joining him in the movie are Lotlot de Leon, John Arcilla, Ricky Davao, Dante Rivero, William Martinez, Vandolph Quizon and Eric Fructuoso.

“Can you just imagine what a strong supporting cast they consist? To be honest, I got star-struck with all of them because when I was young, I used to watch them on screen,” says Dennis.

In The One That Got Away, on the other hand, many of the fans are waiting for his girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado’s surprise guest stint in the show.

“I’m afraid it will be difficult at this point since her own series (The Cure) has also started airing. It will affect their momentum if ever.”

Many ask if there are times when Jen gets jealous with his sweet moments on screen with his TOTGA partner Lovi Poe.

“Oh, no! There’s nothing like that in real life. In the first place, they are friends and both are professional actresses. They know how things work in the ‘biz so issues like that are simply insane.”

When it comes to Jennylyn’s pairing with Tom Rodriguez in The Cure, does he feel a bit jealous?

“Again, there’s no reason why I should feel that. For one, we’re under one management. We’re like bothers already. I respect Tom as an actor having worked with him before in ‘My Husband’s Lover.’ Jealous? I think there’s no cause for alarm,” ends Dennis.

According to Katrina Halili, she’s unfazed even if at present, she has no love life.

“Actually, it’s been six years,” she states. “I swear, in between that period, I didn’t get romantically involved with any guy. I just devoted my time to my daughter Katy who is five years old now. I enjoy being a single mom. I’m happy to take care of my child all these times plus my career is doing good so I can’t complain.”

Does she have any regret that her relationship with Kris Lawrence didn’t work out?

“Honestly, none! It’s good that we didn’t get married or else, we could’ve ended as another annulment statistics. And you will shed money just to get annulled.”

What’s good though is that she and Kris became friends in the process.

“Oh, yes! As much as possible and if both of us are free, we attend Katy’s school activities. Anything for Katy. We also talk on other topics like diets. He shares his secrets to me. We’re so much okay at this point.”

She’s 32 now. At what age does she want to have a new partner?

“If someone will come and sweep me off my feet, why not? If no one comes and I’m already 35, I would be alarmed. I don’t want to become a spinster. Besides, I still want to have another baby,” Katrina avers.
