Cavite also marks Women’s Month

TRECE MARTIRES CITY—True to his commitment in advocating women empowerment and gender equality, Cavite Governor Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla has started programs for the welfare of women and will spearhead the celebration of Women’s Month here.

Cavite’s celebration will also carry the theme “We Make Change Work for Women” at the provincial gymnasium here. The event will be graced by Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito, who will also be the guest of honor and keynote speaker.  

Remulla believes women must be given equal priority because they can also perform excellently in diverse fields of interest and encouraged them to enhance their individuality to be recognized in numerous socio-political and economic advancement.

The celebration will be a channel to show the participants how strong and empowered the women of today, as some guests will share their experiences which include Carmona Mayor Dahlia Loyola for local governance, Marian Gracia Rivera-Dantes in entertainment, and Nerissa Naig-Miranda, wife of Parokya ni Edgar vocalist Chito Miranda, in business and entrepreneurship.

In partnership with Cuts Against Cancer and Multi-Media Service Cooperative, the provincial government will facilitate the symbolic cutting of hair as part of its donation drive for children and women with cancer.

Simultaneous activity on livelihood training, health services, free make-over and MSME Mini Trade Fair and Exhibit will be featured during the assembly. In Livelihood training dubbed as “Kumita, Magnegosyo, at Umasenso” participants will be able to learn the basics of making water bonsai, jewelry accessories, balloon decoration, fabric conditioner and liquid soap making, and candle making. 

On health services, the province will provide free oral prophylaxis, self-breast examination, nutrition and assessment counselling and family planning counselling and commodities. Free make-over will also be provided for the beauty and wellness activity which include free manicure-pedicure, haircut and massage. Women entrepreneurs will also showcase their produced Cavite products.

Also present to make the event meaningful are Cavite Vice Governor Ramon “Jolo” Revilla III, 7th District Board Member and Co-Chairperson of Cavite GFPS Reinalyn Varias and other women organizations in the province.
