Pilmico buys corn from Bukidon co-op

Pilmico Foods Corp., the food and agribusiness unit of Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc., has teamed with a local farmers cooperative for an inclusive sourcing project for corn—a primary ingredient in producing animal feeds products. 

Pilmico under the program will directly secure corn from the Mantibugao Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Farmers Cooperative, a farmers’ cooperative organized in Mantibugao, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. 

MARBFC actively pursues various projects and ventures to assist its 300 members gain access to improved production resources, facilities and livelihood opportunities. The beneficiary cooperative was selected through the support of the Department of Agriculture Corn Program Team and the Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon local government unit.

The partnership was formalized during a ceremonial signing held recently at Cagayan de Oro City, witnessed by Manolo Fortich Mayor Clive Quiño and DA Region 10 Director Carlene Collado.

This is the first time Pilmico, which has been producing high quality animal feeds products for more than 20 years, has ventured in an inclusive sourcing program with a local farmers group.
