What makes you happy?

We all have different sources of our individual happiness. It comes in various forms,a tangible or intangible, and it changes or evolves as we grow older—what once makes us happy no longer does and vice versa.

Adults can truly be complicated beings, especially when it comes to things that make them happy. But children? Children are different.

In Jollibee’s latest heartwarming video, five kids tell what they truly value, what makes them happy. Not toys, not new clothes, not the latest gadget. It’s the time their parents spend with them.

“Being present in their formative years is very important—everyday special moments can be as simple as cheering up your son when he’s down or curling up with your daughter to watch her favorite TV show,” said Jollibee marketing director Cathleen Capati.

Happiness for children is the time they spend with their parents

Capati said, the video, which was supported by world-renowned parenting and character formation expert Dr. Michele Borba, aims to show everyone what kids truly value and to remind parents that quality time can positively impact their childhood more than any toy or material gift ever could.

“As parents, this video is just a reminder that making our kids feel our unconditional love need not be expensive nor complicated. The simple everyday moments we spend with our kids are enough for them to feel loved, with the hope that they grow up paying that love forward,” she added.

Dr. Borba affirmed that parents should “develop a close, mutually respectful relationship” with their children for the latter to grow into wonderful human beings.

To make any bonding experience more memorable, Capati suggested parents share the meaty, cheesy goodness of Jolly Spaghetti with their kids. Jolly Spaghetti Solo is available for only P50, while the Jolly Spaghetti Family Pan (good for four to five people) is priced at P199, both available for dine-in, take-out, delivery, and drive-thru transactions.
