More than 600 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) arrived today from Kuwait.

This is so far the biggest batch of Filipino migrant workers to return home under the amnesty program of Kuwait.

Before noon today, 180 OFWs alighted from Philippine Airlines (PAL) plane.

430 OFWs took a separate flight on board Cebu Pacific.

They were supposed to arrive at 6 am but some delays were encountered.

This is due to the verification process by Kuwait's immigration officials.

The gulf state has extended the amnesty program for undocumented workers until April 22.

This is in response to the request of the Philippine government.

Over 3,000 Filipinos have availed of the program.

About 2,000 more are expected to come back home.

Around 10,800 Filipinos work in Kuwait.
