Global lighting company Feilo Sylvania has recently launched its latest lighting solutions in the Philippines.

Feilo Sylvania country manager Vincent Adorable says the lighting technology has evolved.  “We have the major brand that are capable to provide the proper solutions for every lighting requirement. We are committed to bring the green technology in lighting to the Philippines. This is how our lifestyle should be – low carbon footprint, energy efficient,” he says.

Felio Sylvania is actively tracking opportunities to provide lighting solutions to construction companies, high-rise buildings, malls and residential units.  It also offers street lamps to local government units.

Adorable says consumer awareness at the LGU level is a strong factor to keeping energy usage at bay. He says by switching to light emitting diodes or LED lamps from the traditional incandescent or fluorescent lighting, consumers and the economy are saving precious energy.

“We are tapping the LGUs to shift to a more efficient lighting solution for the street lamps. This will help the government save on energy cost. What is really good about the LED technology is that it can surpass the lifespan of a ordinary incandescent bulb by three to four times or up to 20 years of usage,” Adorable says.

In 2017, the company submitted an unsolicited proposal to the local government of Cebu with the guarantee that no initial investment is required.

An expert in industrial lighting solutions in architecture and building lighting designs, Feilo Sylvania also wants to be known also as a leader in retail.

“The solution is actually right here – accessible, affordable. It is a notch pricey than the customary lighting solution but the additional cost is worth the technology,” Adorable says.

He says the company is riding on the growth of the construction and infrastructure sectors on top of the consistent growth of the Philippine economy, thus the need to upgrade lighting awareness in the Philippines.

Feilo Sylvania chairman Senan Zhuang says the Philippines is a growth market opportunity that the company cannot simply pass.

“We chose Philippines as one of our business center in Southeast Asia due to the fastest growing economy.  The Philippines has one of the highest GDP growth in Asia. We see a strong potential to further expand and enhance our presence here,” he says.

The company sees potential in the dynamic construction industry, the Philippines’ positive demographics with a population of over 100 million and the increase in government spending.

“With the new business center in the Philippines, the company will invest aggressively in market development, provide financial models to fund projects and support the country’s aggressive infrastructure development with China’s Belt and Road Initiative that was spearheaded by Chinese president Xin Jin Ping,” says Zhuang.

Felio Sylvania is a world leader in lighting solutions with its global headquarters based in Budapest, Hungary and manufacturing hubs in China, the US, Europe, Africa and Asia.

The company is 80-percent owned by Shanghai Feilo Acoustics. The Sylvania Company founded in Boston, USA in 1901 is now one of he world’s largest light source manufacturers.
