In their resolve to contribute to lessen the country’s carbon footprint and as a response to introduce innovative transport solutions in the domestic market, Hino Motors Philippines (HMP), unveiled their latest line of Euro 4 powered trucks and buses. Hino’s line-up of vehicles boast of increased engine durability, more cost efficient and environment-friendly emissions.

“We are very excited to share our latest vehicles with our valued partners. As a reliable one-stop shop, we are equipped to provide 360-degree support to all our clients’ trucking requirements—from assembly to chassis, body and, more importantly, aftersales and maintenance,” states HMP Chairman Vicente T. Mills, Jr.

Yusuke Miki, Deputy GM of Marubeni Corporation; Vicente T. Mills, Chairman of Hino Motors Philippines; Masahiro Kumasaka, GM of Hino Motors; Hiroshi Aoki, President of Hino Motors Philippines; Shigehiro Matsuoka, Managing Officer of Hino Motors Ltd.

The Euro 4-compliant fleet includes refrigerated vans, cargo cranes, dump trucks, cab & chassis trucks, tractor heads, wing van, Cerito bus, Grandeza bus and Hino’s version of a modern jeepney, the Hino Jeepney Class 3AC. The new modern jeepney is part of the prototype for the government’s public utility vehicle (PUV) modernization program, which aims to remove dilapidated jeepneys from the road which are rolling coffins.  Designed like a mini bus, this Hino jeepney has a 23 person seating capacity.

With the Philippines’ aggressive infrastructure plan under the Duterte administration, the company sees continuous increase in trucking requirements, whether for brand-new trucks or for maintaining trucks. “The boom in infrastructure construction increases opportunities for transport businesses and truck and bus requirements over the next couple of years. The rise in domestic travel activities will also provide more impetus to the bus industry. Any increase in the movement of people will require the services of modern buses. Further, fleet replacement in compliance with Euro 4 and such requirements will translate into more sales,” Mills explained.

“Hino is honored to have been given the opportunity to incorporate this ecological innovation to the Hino quality of trucks and buses. As we affirm our commitment to supporting the community, we will continue to leverage our ability to assemble and distribute quality trucks and buses designed to address the different needs of Filipinos in the most efficient way possible,” HMP President Mr. Hiroshi Aoki said.

Hino envisions a more “connected community” and is keen to help people and goods go where they need to go. HMP has been engaged in the assembly and exclusive distribution of quality Hino trucks and buses in the Philippines for more than 40 years. Known for providing safe, durable and reliable trucks, HMP meets the transport needs of businesses ranging from small and medium enterprises to big corporations.

Established in March 1975, HINO MOTORS PHILIPPINES CORPORATION (HMP), formerly Pilipinas Hino, Inc.,is a joint venture among Filipino investors, Hino Motors, Ltd and Marubeni Corp. of Japan.  Originally majority-owned by the local partner, HMP has been relaunched under the new majority ownership of Hino Motors, Ltd.

A participant in the Commercial Vehicle Development Program (CVDP), HMP is engaged in the assembly and distribution of quality HINO trucks, buses and spare parts. Hino Motors Philippines Corporation is the first bus body manufacturer in the country to receive ISO 9001:2000 Certification, a distinction that serves as a proof of unmatched product quality. Its leadership in the industry can be attributed to the durability and cost-effectiveness of Hino products and this is reflected in its tag line “Global brand, lifetime value.”
