Already assured of a finals’ spot, the Spurs completed a six-game sweep of the elimination round after turning back the Best Center Pioneers, 53-48.

Rookie Paolo Poblador of Tiebreaker Times had a breakout game with 24 points, seven assists and seven rebounds, while MVP contender Jerome Lagunzad of Tempo/Manila Bulletin had another double double of 10 points and 16 rebounds.

It was the second straight loss by the Pioneers, who were nipped by the Elastoscribes for the finals spot due to an inferior quotient after both teams finished with identical 3-3 records.
