Blue Eagles wary of Bulldogs

THE National University Bulldogs are in the groove.

And they vow to get better in the second round of the 80th University Athletic Association of the Philippines men’s basketball tournament.

That’s why the Ateneo Blue Eagles will have to be ready for them when they meet at 4 p.m. today at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“NU, they’re starting to pick up,” said Blue Eagles coach Sandy Arespacochaga.

So far, the Blue Eagles  have stretched their winning run to eight after their 71-59 triumph over the Adamson Falcons last Saturday.

Thirdy Ravena led Ateneo’s balanced attack with 15 points in that game.

On the other hand, the Falcons are hoping to bounce back from that loss to Ateneo which gave them a 5-3 win-loss  slate in third.

The Falcons hope to remain in third spot if they are able to get past the University of the East Warriors at 2 p.m.

The Bulldogs (3-5) come into their game with the Blue Eagles reeling from a 77-90 setback to the Warriors.

A win by the Falcons will allow them to stay in front of the Far Eastern University Tamaraws (5-4).
