ALL FOR FASHION. The College of Saint Benilde President Brother Dennis Magbanua, Sinulid Exhibit Adviser Tracey Tabora, School of Design and the Arts Associate Dean Cynthia Funk, Dean Dottie Asela-Domingo, Fashion Design and Merchandising Chairperson Lulu Tan-Gan, Arts and Culture Associate Dean Sunita Mukhi, Program Coordinator Christine Benet and SM’s SVP for Marketing Communications Group Millie Dizon are present at the Sinulid Exhibit opening

Graduating students of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Fashion Design and Merchandising Program gave mallgoers a glimpse of future of fashion in Sinulid: The Connotations of Design, an exhibition and show at SM Aura Premier.

The exhibit at the mall’s atrium highlighted different pop up stores and conceptual styling as the Merchandising group showcased their personal brands that reflect their own aesthetic and design philosophy.

This year’s batch featured great diversity in not only Women’s Wear but also featured Men’s Wear and Children’s Wear – streetwear, formal wear, swimwear, sleepwear and even plus-size fashion.

The graduating students’ inspirations included travel, reincarnation, geometric patterns, indigenous materials and personal experiences including moments from their childhood. Themes of sustainability and functionality were also utilized.

The retail set up allowed the students to experience how effective branding is applied in the industry and how it can give them an advantage amidst the increasingly competitive markets.
