Amway launches AI service in PH

Global nutri-science company Amway Group chose the Philippines as its pilot market to launch an artificial intelligence technology that will improve access to product and company information.

Amway head of digital solutions Hyun-Dong Kim said the Philippines was the best market to test artificial intelligence because of high internet and social media penetration in the country.

“ChatBot or chatting robot is an app that responds real time to questions of consumers. We selected the Philippines as a pilot site because of its very young population compared to Japan and Korea. It is easier to engage the younger generation for feedback,” Kim said.

Amway piloted the service in May and the same AI technology will be available in Korea soon.

Amway aims to use the data generated from ChatBot to improve services in all countries where Amway is present.  Amway has a standing agreement with Facebook to use its free AI technology via FB Messenger to fuel ChatBot.

The Philippines also served as the pilot market for Hybris, the electronic platform used by Amway for e-commerce penetration.
