IDEAS and inventions that will help people address situations during natural disasters and national emergencies are being be shown and discussed in the 1st Tactical and Survival Expo.

Top-of-the-line gadgets that involve a water purifier that can handle swamp water, a liquid-powered lamp, a jackhammer that does not need electricity and a boat that does not capsize are just a few things being presented during the four-day exhibit.

Gina Angangco, senior Executive Vice President and Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Arms Corporation of the Philippines, said this during a presentation last Monday at the Manila House inside the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

The expo is slated from June 1 to 4 at the SM Megatrade Halls 1 to 3 in Mandaluyong City.

“Marami tayong magagandang ideas dito. These ideas are applicable to survival,” said Angangco.

The water purifier that will be shown, according to Angangco, will be demonstrated by the inventor, who is now developing a filter that can be carried by soldiers when they are in the battlefield.

There’s also a lamp that can produce light through the electricity that it can generate with the use of water.

They’re also set to a show a small boat that can withstand big waves.

The expo’s theme is “Safety, Security and Survival Show for Sustainable Living.”

Organizers aim to address issues like environment, economic uncertainty, security and threats to order.

They are also showcasing survival technology, gear and proper equipment.

Traditional weapons, firearms and accessories are also part of the show.

Angangco said it is their aim to demonstrate to the public that basic preparedness is not difficult to achieve.
