TAGBILARAN—The friendly skies just got busier. Philippine Airlines has announced that the month of June will add two new flight routes to and from the capital of Bohol.

Northern and Central Luzon dwellers will be able to fly to the island paradise via Clark starting on June 22, and on June 23 South Koreans can fly direct to Bohol via Incheon, making Tagbilaran the country’s fifth city linked to an international destination. The routes were formally launched in a press conference here on Wednesday.

Through his representative, Acting Provincial Administrator lawyer Mitchell John Boiser, Bohol Gov. Edgar M. Chatto expressed his deepest appreciation for PAL’s response to his call to add more flights to the province. This, according to the governor, will provide a multiplier effect to Bohol’s tourism industry.

The daily Clark to Tagbilaran flight will be assigned the flight number PR 2871, which will depart from Clark from 3 p.m. and arrive at Tagbilaran Airport by 4:20 p.m. The return flight, PR 2872, departs Tagbilaran at 6:40 a.m. and arrives in Clark at 8 a.m.

In turn, the daily flight from Incheon, South Korea bearing the flight number PR 1483 will leave Incheon at 2:30 a.m. Philippine Time, arriving in Bohol at 6 a.m. This, in PAL’s estimation, will allow Korean tourists to jump right on with their Bohol Tours without skipping a beat, while the return flight, PR 1482, to Incheon will depart from Bohol at 5:20 p.m. providing plenty of time for last-minute souvenir shopping.

The new flights to South Korea will be on the Airbus 320-200, a spacious 156-seater plane with 12 seats reserved for business class and 144 for economy.  All seat classes will be enjoying PAL’s signature hospitality with meals for all its passengers, as well as free baggage allowance without needing to pay more up to 30 kilos for free business class plus carry-on baggage. International flights provide a free baggage allowance of 20 kg for economy and up to 35 kg for business class.

If prolific shoppers find themselves burdened with extra souvenirs, PAL allows the passenger to pay for excess baggage of up to 40 kg per passenger at a rate of P250 per 5 kg for domestic flights and $56 per 5kg for international flights. These options are all available up to four hours before departure.

Now on its 76th Year, PAL is adding these new flights to Bohol as part of their expansion efforts, with new planes for domestic, international, and long-haul flights coming in later this year.

To thank their loyal customers and frequent flyers, PAL is launching a Double Miles Promo from June 22 to Oct. 22, 2017 to go with these new flights, together with an All-In Tagbilaran to Clark Economy Fares at P1,372 and an all-year round trip promo of $405 plus taxes for the Tagbilaran-Incheon flights.
