Honda Cars Philippines Inc. expects to sell 32,000 vehicles in 2017, up by 33 percent from 24,000 units it delivered in 2016, a top executive said.

Newly appointed Honda Cars Philippines president and general manager Noriyuki Takahuma said sales had been consistently good, even before his assumption to the new position, over the last three years.

“We want to give customers good value. We want them to experience improved and better products as we aim to maintain our market share,” he said during the launch of the all-new Honda City Monday night at the City of Dreams Manila in Pasay City.

Honda is the fourth largest vehicle distributor in the Philippines in terms of sales in the first four months of 2017.

Honda Cars Philippines administrative manager Louie Soriano said the sales forecast would cover all Honda models available in the Philippines. The company adopted the strategy of maintaining the current pricing for all City variants that range from P764,000 for the base model with manual transmission to more than P1 million for top-of-the line variant.

The company’s plant in Sta. Rosa reached its full utilization capacity and the company is also assessing if it can manufacture another Honda model, Soriano said.
