Presidential son Sebastian “Baste” Duterte debuts on Philippine television as co-host of Lakbai, the newest reality travel show which will have its premier episode on TV 5 on Sunday, right after the PBA.
The good-looking, 29-year-old, rock singer will co-host Lakbai with YouTube sensation Bogart the Explorer.
At the blogcon (an event mainly for bloggers) for the show, Baste, in black shirt and blue jeans, was very candid when he answered questions from the bloggers.
Lakbai, which is short for the Bisaya expression, Lakaw ta, bai! or Lakad tayo, kaibigan, is a one-of-a-kind travel show.
Baste, who has a son with Davao-based model Kate Necesario and a daughter with a former girlfriend, was a hot topic in showbiz after her short-lived relationship with sexy actress Ellen Adarna. Thrust into the limelight with his father’s election, Baste, who confessed to being more of a mama’s boy, said that nothing has changed much in his personal life even after his father won the presidency in the last elections and became the president a year now.
Lakbai in Bisaya and Tagalog is an eight-week special showcasing the country’s top destinations as well as their food. The show will take audiences in a whole new light as it focuses on the adventures of a group of “bros” while exploring exciting places, participating in the local activities and establishing a connection with the places.
Baste, who is a seasoned surfer and diver, will be seen scuba-diving and swimming with sea turtles in vast coral reefs and rich marine biodiversity.
Lakbai will feature the world-renowned and top diving destination of Apo Island in Negros Oriental and the nearby exotic province of Siquijor, among other exciting places.
Joining Baste are his closest friends, Alexis Lumbatan, a lawyer who loves to make jokes; Sboi Malicay, the cool bro who keeps the mood light; and Andrei Apostol, the creative bro who acts as travel’s videographer. Travel suggestions on where to visit are welcome. Send them to TV 5 Home Facebook.
