As currently the biggest beauty store in the country, spanning around 2,500 square meters, it’s not unusual to bump into a makeup artist stocking up on their beauty and skin care essentials at the SM Store Beauty Section in Makati.
“[The SM Beauty Store] features a wide range of products, from affordable to prestige cosmetics, skin care brands, and fragrance. It’s a beauty hall you can call your playground,” says Watsons Group Marketing Manager Sharon Decapia.
Almost 200 of the most esteemed local and global beauty brands are housed in the flagship store in SM Makati. The Cosmetics and Skin sections are aglow with brands like Dior, MAC, Clinique, Aveda, Kiehl’s, Glamglow, and more. The luxury fragrance lineup boasts of Prada, Nest, Lalique, Atelier Colognes, Thiery Mugler, Guerlain, and Jean Patou among other labels. Masstige brands including BYS, Happy Skin, Pixi, Ofra, NYX, The Body Shop, and many more are also available in the beauty store.
Makeup artist Jigs Mayuga, whose celebrity clients include Cheska Garcia-Kramer and Bea Alonzo, says he goes to SM Beauty Store to get some of his favorite cosmetics items such as the Infallible Pro-Matte foundation from L’Oreal, Fit Me Concealer from Maybelline, Happy Skin lippies, and eyebrow pencils from K-Palette.
As a special token of appreciation to its makeup artist customers, SM Beauty has launched the SM Beauty Pro-Card, a discount card exclusive for makeup artists.
The SM Beauty Pro-Card entitles cardholders to a 10 percent discount on purchases at the SM Beauty Section. In addition, they also enjoy perks from the store, such as first dibs on new collections and exclusive invite to events.
Along with Mayuga, Jesi Mendez, Jing Monis, Fanny Serrano, and Bambi Fuentes, among other established and up-and-coming makeup artists were in attendance during the launch of the discount card.
A Glam Session was also held to let guests in on the hottest trends in makeup and hairstyle. According to Monis, the sizzling summer season is the best time for collarbone-length or pixie cut hair.
Three makeup artists battled during a makeup challenge. Muriel Jada Nubla’s Fall/Winter look emerged as the winner.
