Snapshots: Academic book fair to tackle educational reform

Seeking to bridge content gaps between schools and massive educational reforms, the 20th Philippine Academic Book Fair was formally opened by the Academic Booksellers Association of the Philippines (ABAP).  

Leading the ribbon cutting of the Book Fair are ABAP’s board members, from left, Anna Jhorie Arciga (University of the Philippines Press), treasurer; Dina Berioso (IBC Book Consolidators, Inc.), ex-officio president; Evelyn Millar (Golden Books Services, Inc.), vice president; Lino Dagus (CD Books International, Inc.), president; Jovita De Jesus (F&J De Jesus, Inc.), auditor, and Sr. Maricar Andamon (Paulines), FSP, asst. secretary.   

This year’s book fair introduces new books for the first ever year of Senior High School in the country, along with new educational tech including e-Metrics computer programs for librarians and school management programs for school admins as well as huge discounts.

The Book Fair ran until July 7 at the 1 Megatrade Hall, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.
