Leading toy store Toy Kingdom recently staged the Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary celebration at SM Aura Premier with a special meet and greet with Hot Wheels design manager Dmitriy Shakhmatov.
Shakhmatov, who is also a furniture designer, has been with Hot Wheels since 2014. He said he feels honored to be a part of this prestigious brand, as “Hot Wheels is like a culture on its own that has a 50-year history.”
According to Shakhmatov, designing Hot Wheels cars is always an exciting endeavor because it’s a brand that entertains and excites both kids and collectors of all ages.
“We do it for the kids, we do it for the collectors so it’s all about fun,” he says. “I don’t call it a toy company; I call it entertainment because we are really here literally to entertain.”
In celebration of Hot Wheels’ 50 years in the business, Shakhmatov showcased the Hot Wheels cars that he designed such as ‘96 Nissan 180SX Type X, Aristo Rat DVB16, Porsche 917 LH, X Wing Fighter Carship, and Zoom In.
