Thanks to Facebook’s new Instant Games cross-platform gaming experience, we now know who among our FB friends is/are the most competitive.

In case you haven’t been invited to play EverWing on Facebook Messenger, let us tell you what some netizens are currently up to.

EverWing is a scrolling shooter game created by Blackstorm Labs, and released on the Instant Games platform in Facebook Messenger in November 2016.

The premise of the game is pretty simple: Players have five columns on which they can scroll their Guardian to shoot down Monsters and Bosses, and catch coins and other special rewards. You can pick from Alice, Fiona, Sophia, Lily, Aurora, Lenore, Jade, and Arcana as your Guardian—each has its own skill. You must dodge the monsters, falling fireballs, and projectiles fired by Bosses to keep your Guardian alive.

EverWing was one of the many games first rolled out on Facebook’s messaging app. And while it has been available since late last year—it was named a Facebook Game of the Year in 2016—it’s only in the past few months that we are getting onto the bandwagon.

Even though the game is simple in execution, its social, fun, and competitive nature makes playing it more engaging. You only need to open a conversation with a friend or friends (group chat), tap on the game controller icon below, and choose EverWing.

After finishing a round, people in the conversation will see your score and will have to opportunity to challenge you back—this is where you and your friends try to beat the scores of each other in order to determine the top player of the week. Friendships are tested and the competitive side of one another is revealed—but on top of it all, it’s an entertaining and challenging way to past time.
