Embarking on a journey to wellness may seem daunting because of the ever-changing demands and fast-paced character of daily living. People nowadays have less time to prepare a meal, let alone maintain a nutritious diet.
This is the reason a multinational food and beverage company is encouraging people to develop healthy eating habits in order to achieve optimal nutrition and health.
Nestlé Philippines, through its Wellnessize campaign, continues to help Filipinos enhance their quality of life by choosing better food and drink options and engaging in regular physical activities.
To showcase how to prepare nutritious dishes, Nestlé invited select members of the press to an exclusive food demonstration and presentation led by Chef Tess Sutilo of the Nestlé Wellness Kitchen.
Participants were able to sample Chef Tess’ “wellnessized” versions of classic Filipino dishes such as papaya okoy, steamed fragrant chicken, potato and egg ensalada, shrimp and spaghetti in garlic and olive oil, sinigang na pusit, and beef mechado.
“Wellnessize is a term that Nestlé coined from the noun ‘wellness,’ because we thought that it must have an action. Also, an individual must take action to achieve wellness,” explained Aurora Alipao, vice president for communications and marketing services.
The health campaign, which was launched in 2016, is one of the initiatives of the Nestlé Wellness Club, the consumer relationship program of Nestlé that aims to educate wellness aspirants to care for their families through good nutrition.
As part of the club, subscribers get consistent access to recipes and latest articles and videos that focus on the importance of making informed food choices, developing sound eating, and maintaining physical activity habits.
Alipao also mentioned that their research into the behavior of homemakers who are members of Nestlé club found that most of them are inclined to search for classic recipes that Filipinos love, such as adobo and sinigang.
“The recipes present in the website have only two to three procedures because we had the homemakers’ mindset in mind that they have very limited time and they want to cook a simple dish without sacrificing the quality,” said Alipao.
