While nail polish can instantly make one look stylish, the amount of time spent waiting for it to fully dry can be quite tedious. There’s a constant worry of smudging those newly painted nails whenever one uses their hands.
Homegrown beauty brand Happy Skin aims to cater to those women who are always on the go and those who are going to the beach.
Happy Skin, together with nail care salon Posh Nails, has launched Express Gel Polish, a vegan gel polish that boasts long-wearing and quick-drying formula.
The Express Gel Polish eschews 10 top toxic ingredients—many of which make the nail polish harden and resist chipping but have known health risks—and instead uses vegan gel polish formula as a base for the intense pigments.
According to the two brands, the advantage of using a vegan nail polish formula is that the color can be removed painlessly anytime, without damaging the nail beds. The pigments are not sheer and one coat is enough for a vibrant and intense coverage.
It also contains almond oil to nourish the cuticless, and hydrolyzed keratin to help strengthen nails.
“What’s special about the formula that we created is it still holds the same promises in all of our previous gel polishes. Aside from vegan, it’s Korean-made,” Rissa Mananquil-Trillo, co-founder of Happy Skin, told Manila Standard.
She added, “Because of the expertise of Posh Nails, which has been in the industry for so long, we really nailed the best colors for Filipinas in this collaboration.”
To make the application easier, it has a rounded fan-type nail polish brush with thick bristles, enabling detail work and the occasional full-nail swipe.
Since the nail polish cures in natural light, it does require the use of a UV lamp to dry.
Express Gel Polish comes in four colors, whose names are inspired by the different kinds of happiness one can get from visiting a nail salon branch. Pampered, a versatile white, is a staple in the collection; TLC, categorized as a perfect blend of beige and crème, is an ideal shade for all skin tones; Posh, a true, soft light pink can make one feel modern and current; finally, Luxe is a pure and flamboyant red that echoes one of the year’s trendy colors.
At a glance, the Happy Skin x Posh Nails Express Gel Polish looks like the regular Happy Skin nail polish, except for the embellished cap with illustrations of crowns, diamonds, and nail polishes. The signature design on the nail polish cap is intentional—a mirror of both brands’ philosophy of empowering women to bloom and look like their best selves.
The Happy Skin x Posh Nails Express Gel Polishes are now available at Happy Skin stores, select counters, happyskincosmetics.com, and poshnails.com.ph.
