Ong’s showcase at the prestigious fashion event, held recently on Sept. 6-14, was extra special as she collaborated with her fashion designer son, John Paras, who created the clothes that complemented her jewelry and accessories.

In her first runway show at NYFW, the self-taught jewelry designer featured her Divas of Nature collection and the Geometric line collection inspired by the Louvre museum.

Known for her elegant minaudierés and dramatic necklaces in natural shapes, Ong captured the imagination of stylephiles and delighted the fashion elite with her intricately gilded pieces that merge the organic with the opulent.

The audience members were treated to her ornate neck pieces and earrings, beautifully crafted rings and bracelets, and standout minaudierés.

The impressive and intricately designed creations Ong presented at her NYFW show exhibited her keen eye for detail and proud Filipina roots as she used humble materials such as banig, bamboo, and even salvaged wood, juxtaposed with fine gold and precious stones.
