Time makes the perfect iced coffee

There are many sayings about time and how it affects almost every aspect of life. But do you know that time is also a big factor in brewing naturally sweet tasting iced coffee?

Starbucks now offers Cold Brew Coffee, which undergoes a process that relies heavily on time rather than heat for extraction of flavor.

Brewed in small batches, this process requires ground coffee to be steeped in cool filtered water for up to 48 hours. Compared to the traditional iced coffee made by brewing hot coffee and cooled, cold brewing allows the ground coffee to be in contact with water for a longer period of time, bringing out its natural rich and balanced flavors. With patience comes a smooth, iced coffee like no other.

Cold Brew Coffee is now available in selected Starbucks branches in the Philippines

“Knowing the Filipinos’ love for cold caffeinated beverages, we felt it was a perfect opportunity to bring Cold Brew to the Philippines, with its inviting aroma that comes from the unique mixture of premium Arabica coffee beans from different coffee growing regions,” said Keith Cole, head of marketing for Starbucks Philippines.

Starbucks Cold Brew Blend is a balance of washed African coffee that lends a refreshing citrus flavor and Latin American beans, which are responsible for its naturally sweet and chocolate notes. The medium roast beans accentuate the full-flavored coffee that was specifically blended for the cold brew process.

“We are committed to bringing new coffee experiences to our Filipino customers. With the time and effort that goes into every batch of the Starbucks Cold Brew, we are confident that our customers will enjoy every sip of our new offering,” said Keith.

Starbucks Cold Brew is available only in Starbucks Reserve stores on Tomas Morato in Quezon City, and at Eight Forbes Town and Central Square in Taguig City, Keyland Center and Signa Designer Residences in Makati City, Sapphire Bloc in Pasig City and S’Maison in Pasay City.
