Where to run in Metro Manila

Running outdoors delivers a number of health benefits, however, inhaling polluted air as you keep your pace in the open makes the effort counterproductive. Streets busy with human and vehicle traffic are also a dangerous track option.

These tracks and trails in the city provide a more conducive space for you to hit your cardio goals.

Track 30th

In the middle of the busy Bonifacio Global City commercial-business district is this fitness park for active BGC workers and residents. It features a paved jogging path: a loop of about 310 meters in length that goes around the park filled with open green spaces and trees serving as natural shade in daytime.

Tackle this track in a pair of Merrell’s Bare Access Flex whose technology guarantees flexibility, versatility, comfort, and ground connection on the road and beyond.

Capitol Commons

Included in this 10-hectare mixed use development in Pasig City is a park that has a 300-meter loop where residents can run, jog, and do drills. Meanwhile, children can have fun and play in the park’s outdoor playground.

Bare Access Flex’s FLEXconnect, that offers superior breathability,  makes it an ideal shoes for running and after-exercise leisure.

Salcedo Park

A fitness junkie and foodie will find this place a perfect running spot. Have a Saturday morning jog at Salcedo Park where after you log your laps you can then sample some organic produce at the Salcedo Market. Make it a family affair and bring along the kids and the family dog.

Slip on a pair of Bare Access Flex with dual directional flex-groove EVA midsole and an M Select GRIP+ outsole for agility and stability on the park’s uneven terrain, wet or dry.

UP Diliman

Every weekend, the campus becomes a car-free zone making it a go-to fitness spot for joggers and cyclists in the northern Metro. Five laps around the oval completes a 10km run. There’s also plenty of room for other recreational activities such as yoga, tai chi, and skateboarding.

Hit your fitness goals in Merrell Trail Glove 4 which features a simple design, a sock-like construction for a locked-down fit and a Vibram sole for superior grip.

Filinvest City

Those in the southern part of Metro Manila are lucky for having easy access to Filinvest City’s 9km-worth of grassy trails and dirt paths—perfect for trail running and mountain biking. The trails range from beginner to expert.

If you plan on doing light runs on moderate terrain, the Merrell Agility Charge Flex is your best bet for its Hyperlock TPU film heel counter that provides stability during quick descents and sharp turns. For longer runs and more rugged courses, on the other hand, go for the Agility Peak Flex which has FLEXconnect EVA dual-directional flex-groove to provide optimal traction for both uphill and downhill trails.
