Citing the global trend in lifestyle drinking which finds young drinkers preferring beverages with lower alcohol by volume, Emperador introduces a lighter brandy for the global market.
The Emperador Double Light is a premium brandy described as having a “rich, smooth, and fruity” character. It is made using imported brandies from Spain that spent time in Sherry casks and bottled at 23.5 percent ABV (alcohol by volume).
According to the brandy giant, a significant portion of consumers around the world, mostly the younger generation of drinkers, is gradually preferring lower alcohol drinks as they grow a lot more mindful about certain health and wellness trends.
“With Emperador Double Light, we’re using our expertise to deliver a product that meets the growing number of consumers who wants a better drink and are keeping an eye on their alcohol intake. The global trend indicates consumers with a healthier lifestyle prefer lower alcohol, at the same time, drinking better quality products,” said Kendrick Tan, head of innovation at Emperador, which also owns Fundador brandy.
Emperador Double Light can be enjoyed neat, over ice, or as a long drink on a tall glass filled with ice.
“The Double Light is lighter than Emperador Light in alcohol and calories. It may be the lowest calorie spirit available in the market,” added Tan.
He continued, “The product is very smooth yet delivers a full-flavored brandy experience that is very enjoyable. It tastes fantastic—either straight, over ice, or served with lots of ice for a refreshing long drink. No need for sweet mixers and unnecessary sugar-intake.”
CJ Perea, head of the brand, clarified that the new product is not for “heavy drinking outing.”
“Emperador Double Light is a product crafted to appeal to the growing trend of ‘younger, lighter’ consumers. It is for consumers who enjoy the experience and the moment of bonding with friends—the lower alcohol satisfies this social occasion,” explained Perea.
Emperador Double Light is now available in leading supermarkets, convenience stores, grocery stores, and sari-sari stores nationwide in 750mL and 1L bottles.
