Gourmet selection for Lenten season

Going meatless for Lenten season does not mean opting only for bland, unappetizing meals. Many establishments in the country offer delectable options.

Tea-infused menu

TWG Tea serves a Lenten Menu until April 28 featuring a selection of new seafood dishes infused with the finest harvest teas and tea blends. Aside from tea gastronomy, a new range of refreshing tea-infused mocktails also takes center stage.

Begin the meal with an appetizing starter of pan-fried soft shell crab with a peanut sauce on a bed of lettuce and cherry tomato salad, drizzled with an 1837 Green Tea infused vinaigrette.

For classic oriental flavor with a TWG Tea twist, enticing main courses include the Chinese-style steamed fish with a Midsummer Night Tea infused sauce, served with fragrant Timeless Tea infused rice; and the pan-fried salmon on a bed of vegetables with vermicelli, and served with an Oriental Empire Tea infused broth.

Brimming with bold flavors, the seafood squid ink pasta in a paella sauce, topped with a combination of scallops, mussels and shrimp, and drizzled with Matcha oil makes an excellence choice.

The perfect accompaniment to pair with the divine dishes is any of these refreshing tea-infused mocktails: Pick from Black Hawaiian, a special blend of coconut milk, pineapple juice and Number 12 tea; Summer Rouge, a concoction of berries, calamansi concentrate and Eternal Summer Tea; and Dulcet Rose, a delicious mix of lychee juice and Bain de Roses Tea.
