Beth Robles of Play Crafts PH is conducting a three-day calligraphy workshop on Saturdays of June at senior recreation center Sunshine Place in Makati.
Syllabus for June 8 will tackle tools and basic strokes. Participants will learn how to use pointed nibs and ink to create beautiful strokes.
The June 15 schedule will be focused on learning the principal strokes in writing capital letters and ways to connect them. This will enable participants to write simple greetings such as “Happy Birthday,” “Congratulations,” and “Thank You.”
The last day of the series, called Offhand Flourishing, will teach participants the basics of flourishing, creating quills, cartouche, borders, and scrolls to embellish their work.
Each class starts at 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Calligraphy adds flair to handwritten envelope invitations, stationery, and sweet notes.
Robles has conducted calligraphy and floral painting workshops using different media such as watercolor, gouache, soft pastels, and acrylic.
