German Club Manila on April 11 presents “Kunstausstellung,” featuring the recent works of Filipino visual artists Anthony Fermin and Carmela Geisert.
Hailing from Cebu, Fermin is known for his paintings that embody rich, colorful, and multi-layered aspects of Filipino culture, populating his canvases with crowds of people on streets and public spaces. His interpretation of figures, vehicles, and animals projects whimsy and optimism in each brushstroke.
Meanwhile, it has always been Geisert’s passion for art that drives her to create while she juggles her other responsibilities, one of which is as president of Asia Grand View Hotel in Coron, Palawan.
For this show, Geisert marks her artistic journey with blossoms that draw a parallel to her blooming artistic career. Her pieces remind viewers of leisurely strolls in formal gardens, with special attention to bright color combinations of flowers and foliage.
